*ISLAMABAD – New developments has been reported in the death of theSargodha University former CEO.*
*A medical board has been formed to investigate the cause of death ofSargodha University, Lahore campus Chief Executive Javed Ahmed who diedFriday night at the Camp Jail, Lahore. A postmortem examination will alsobe conducted today (Saturday). *
He had been arrested by NAB in a case relating to operating illegalcampuses and was on judicial remand at the jail. Authorities at the jailsay he died of cardiac arrest. However photographs of his handcuffed bodysparked widespread outrage, leading to questions about inhumane conditionsat jails.
The Punjab prisons IG has ordered an investigation into the incident andsummoned an inquiry report.
