ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday has issued judges’roster to hear fake accounts case, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the two-member bench comprising Chief Justice ofPakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar and Justice Ijazul Ahsan will hear thefake accounts case.
The hearing of fake accounts case will start at the Supreme Court LahoreRegistry from December 24.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SC-mandated joint investigationteam (JIT) tasked to probe the fake accounts set up for alleged moneylaundering has submitted it report in Supreme Court Lahore Registry.
The JIT interrogated 97 people, including Asif Ali Zardari, his sisterFaryal Talpur, Anwar Majeed, his son and former Summit Bank presidentHussain Lawai.
During investigation, the JIT had also summoned PPP chairman Bilawal BhuttoZardari twice but he didn’t appear before the investigators. However, hesubmitted his reply to the JIT through his lawyers. The JIT also added thestatements of the approvers in its report.
The apex court had formed a JIT in September to probe the money launderingcase involving Rs35 billion funneled through fake bank accounts at threelocal banks; according to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the amountexceeds Rs 100 billion.
