BEIJING – China has rejected a media report that it is planning to buildmilitary equipment including fighter jets under China-Pakistan EconomicCorridor framework.
During her regular briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign MinistrySpokesperson Hua Chunying said the relevant report is not true and that theCPEC is an important framework for cooperation bearing long-term interestsfor both sides.
Referring to the meeting of joint coordination committee on CPEC held inBeijing, she said that the two sides would continue to implement theconsensus reached between the leadership of the two countries to cement theearly harvest projects and to extend the CPEC to industrial parks andsocial livelihood.

To a question regarding reports of withdrawal of the US troops fromAfghanistan and Syria, she said that Chinas position on these two issueswas consistent. Hua Chunying said that as the close neighbour ofAfghanistan, China stood for the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned inclusivereconciliation process.
