WASHINGTON – US Navy secret weapon of war has been revealed in a recentmedia report.
The US Navy has recently heavily invested in a new generation of weapons tobe installed on American ships. Among the many systems are two mainprojects – a ship-based railgun for sinking enemy vessels and a laser forsmaller targets.
The mysteriously massive device spotted outside major US militarycontractor Northrop Grumman being prepared for transport is reportedly ahigh-energy laser system called Solid-State Laser Technology Maturation(SSL-TM), The Drive media outlet reported.
According to the outlet, SSL-TM is expected to be shipped for its first seatrials in the fourth quarter of 2019. If it turns out to be true, theobject will soon be moved to San Diego Pier – the homeport of theamphibious USS Portland, designated to be the test vessel for the newhigh-tech weaponlinksoughtby the US Navy, Sputnik has reported.
