Captain Shahid Afridi has revealed the reason for not coaching the nationalteam. Former Test cricketer Shahid Afridi recently appeared as a guest on aprivate TV show, ‘Samaa News,’ where he was asked questions about cricketand various other topics.
During this time, 43-year-old Shahid Afridi was asked why, despite hisextensive experience in cricket, he doesn’t coach the national team likeother players.
In response, Shahid Afridi stated that he believes all the cricketers whohave played for Pakistan should focus on grassroots cricket at theUnder-14, Under-16, and Under-19 levels and help nurture young players. Hefurther explained that the effort of those who have played cricket here isto directly contribute to the development of Pakistani cricket at thesegrassroots levels, and he does not want to interfere in that.
Shahid Afridi emphasized that coaching is needed at the grassroots level,and if the coaches at this level are good, the product will turn out well.Therefore, he believes in working at the grassroots level.
