Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has announced his resignation fromthe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) justbefore the ICC World Cup 2023. On X, formerly Twitter, Hafeez stated thathe is stepping down from his role as an honorary member of the PCB CTC.
Hafeez revealed that he could only work in PCB if he has some level ofdecisive authority in team selection else he was not interested in onlyceremonial job.
He expressed his gratitude to Zaka Ashraf for the opportunity to serve asan honorary member and offered his continued support for Pakistan cricket.

Notably, the PCB had established the CTC, which includes former Pakistancaptains Misbah-ul-Haq (as the head), Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez,to provide recommendations on various cricket-related matters, such as thedomestic structure, scheduling, selection committees, coachingappointments, contracts, and umpire, referee, and curator development plans.
