The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to challenge the ElectionCommission’s announcement. The committee members and PTI leader Niaz AllahNiazi stated that the constitution allows for elections within 90 days, andgoing beyond that is unconstitutional. Niaz Allah Niazi mentioned that theywill challenge the Election Commission’s decision, as it does not appear tofunction as a constitutional body.
They also emphasized that the authority to set the election date lies withthe President of the country. It should be noted that the ElectionCommission of Pakistan has announced that the general elections will takeplace in the final week of January and that the preliminary constituencydelimitation list will be released on September 27. It has been stated inthe announcement that after hearing objections and suggestions regardingthe constituency boundaries, the final list will be issued on November 30.
