LAHORE – A strong weather warning has been issued by the ProvincialDisaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Saturday.
PMD has warned that provincial capital Lahore is expected to receive veryheavy rainfall over the next two days.
The PDMA said in a notification, “A strong weather system from CentralIndia will pass between New Delhi and Lahore during Saturday evening toMonday afternoon which can cause heavy to very heavy rainfall.”
Issuing a flood warning, PDMA added, “Under the influence of theaforementioned meteorological conditions, widespread thunderstorm/ rainwith scattered heavy falls, isolated very heavy falls and one or twoextremely heavy falls are expected over the upper catchments of riversSutlej, Ravi and Chenab along with Gujranwala Division.”
The notification further stated, “Scattered thunderstorm/ rain withisolated heavy falls is expected over the upper catchments of rivers India,Jhelum along with Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha and Sahiwal divisions.”
