ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court on Monday took suo motu notice on ImranKhan’s statement against a female additional sessions judge of the federalcapital.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and comprisingJustice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Babar Sattar will take up thecase on Tuesday.
The development comes as the former prime minister warned the AdditionalSessions Judge Zeba, who granted PTI leader Shahbaz Gill into the custodyof Islamabad Police, in a sedition case.
The defiant politician alleged that Additional Sessions Judge was awarethat Gill was tortured, but she did not release him on bail. “Zeba! Beready, we will take action against you,” Khan warned while hurling threatsat judiciary and Islamabad police officials.
On Sunday, the PTI chief was booked in a terrorism case on the complaint ofIslamabad Saddar Magistrate Ali Javed for threatening the female judge.
The FIR said Imran Khan threatened the additional sessions judge ofIslamabad with a view to terrorise the high officials of the police and thejudiciary, so that they could not fulfil their duties and refrain fromtaking action against the PTI due to fear of Imran.
Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court has granted a three-day transit bail toKhan in the case filed against him last night.
The interior ministry reportedly asked written permission from PrimeMinister Shehbaz Sharif’s office to arrest Khan following the registrationof the case.
Some late-night reports on Monday claimed that PTI chairman Imran Khan willbe arrested, but party leaders claimed that Khan was still at his residence.
