South Korea to construct hydel power station in KP

ISLAMABAD – South Korea has expressed its willingness to construct a hydelpower station on River Indus in district Kohistan.

A spokesman of Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization told RadioPakistan that a South Korean team of experts will arrive in Peshawar soonto finalize modalities for construction of the power house.

It will generate four hundred and ninety-six megawatt electricity tosupplement the grid of the country that has been plagued by enhancedload-shedding.

Though Pakistan and China have been cementing ties in the energy sector,South Korea is seen as an entrant in the market full of opportunities.

South Korea has been expressing its willingness to boost trade ties withPakistan, however, the dream has not been materialized in letter and spirit.

Korea sent a government delegation in the era of former president AyubKhan to Pakistan to copy the Second Five Year Plan prepared by Dr MehboobulHaq and amazed the world with its economic progress.
