LAHORE – The Punjab government announced on Thursday to extend timings formarkets and shopping malls in order to give more time to people forshopping ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal in a videomessage that it was decided in a meeting of a provincial cabinet’ssub-committee on coronavirus that timing for markets have been extendedtill 10pm from previous 5pm.
The government had earlier allowed markets to continue business activitiestill 5pm in a bid to control spread of the coronavirus.
The minister further announced that all shrines will be reopened across theprovince from Friday and zaireen will be allowed to visit them around theclock.
Traders have appreciated the decision saying it will help them to overcomelosses they suffered during lockdown.
Citizens also hailed the government announcement saying they will now beable to go for shopping after Iftar.
