Pakistan NSA Naseer Janjua arrives in China on an important visit

BEIJING – The National Security Adviser Lt. General (retd) Nasser KhanJanjua has reached China to attend the 13th meeting of the ShanghaiCooperation Organization (SCO) National Security Council Secretaries beingheld in Beijing on May 21 and 22.

Nasser Janjua will represent Pakistan in the meeting which will focus onissues including the regional security situation and priority of securitycooperation among the SCO members.

On the sidelines of the SCO National Security Council Secretaries meeting,Nasser Janjua will also meet various dignitaries in Beijing.

Besides Nasser Janjua, Secretary of the National Security Council of RussiaNikolai Patrushev, Indian Deputy National Security Adviser Rajinder Khanna,Presidential Aide and Secretary of National Security Council of KazakhstanNurlan Ermekbaev, Secretary of the National Security Council of TajikistanAbdurahim Kahorov, Secretary of the National Security Council of KyrgyzstanDamir Sagynbayev, Secretary of the National Security Council of UzbekistanMakhmudov Victor Vladimirovich, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov, andDirector of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-TerrorismStructure Yevgeniy Sysoyev will also attend the meeting.

The participants will exchange views on the regional security situation andsecurity cooperation priorities of the SCO.

It will be the first SCO National Security Council Secretaries’ meetingafter the SCO enlargement and its primary task is to make preparations forthe meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council or the Qingdao Summit to beheld next month.
