ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has concluded a two-day visit toIran.
Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Iran in line with government’s approachto meaningfully strengthen its relations with all neighbouring countries.
Bilaterally, the two sides exchanged views on issues related toPakistan-Iran border security; facilitation of Pakistani pilgrims andZaireen traveling every year in large numbers to iran.
Both Pakistan and Iran agreed to join hands for promoting efforts for peacein Afghanistan through an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led solution and evolvinga broader regional consensus in this regard.
The joint declaration statement included the initiation of the process forrelease of a number of Pakistani prisoners by the government of Iran andtheir repatriation to Pakistan.
Next meeting of the joint consular commission to be held in Islamabad in2nd half of 2019.
Call for peaceful solution of Jammu & Kashmir dispute based on the will ofthe Kashmiri people and in line with the UNSC resolutions.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also extended an invitation to President Rouhanifor a visit to Pakistan.
