ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar onSunday took suo moto notice against orders by the Election Commission ofPakistan’s (ECP)

SC suo moto relates to ECP ban on recruitments for government jobs.

As per details garnered, CJP has issued notice to ECP secretary whereas athree-member bench has been constituted to assume the hearing from tomorrow(April-23, 2017).

The three-member bench will be headed by CJP and comprise Justice Umar AtaBandial and Justice Ijazul Hassan.

It is pertinent here to mention that ECP on April-11 had imposed a ban onpre-election recruitment and uplift works across the country announcedafter April 1.

Also the diversion of funds for development works would not take place.However, recruitment process through the public service commission would becontinued.
