United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in Afghanistan capitalon Sunday on an unannounced visit, according to reports in internationalmedia.
The Pentagon link chief metwith Afghan link AshrafGhani, the country’s president house said.
Earlier this week, the defense secretary made a scheduled visit to India.
Austin arrived in New Delhi for a three-day visit on Friday, during whichhe had held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NationalSecurity Advisor Ajit Doval, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and ForeignMinister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The US Department of Defense did notmention its chief’s trip to Kabullink in the official agenda.
