ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau takes important decision overthe 100 applicants seeking favour under new NAB amendment 2019.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to oppose applicationsfiled by more than 100 graft suspects seeking relief under the NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) Amendment Ordinance 2019, it emerged onSaturday.
In this regard, the accountability watchdog has prepared its response inall of these applications, including some known corruption cases of megamoney laundering through fake bank accounts and rental power.
Sources familiar with the matter told the media that the bureau would pleadwith the court to dismiss former premier Raja Pervez Ashraf’s bail plea inthe rental power case as the accused person has inflicted damage ofbillions of rupees on the national exchequer.
Soon, the NAB will submit its response against other prominent individualswho have applied for the relief including Liaquat Ali Jatoi and formerfederal minister Akram Khan Durrani.
The bureau has already filed its request with the court to turn down thebail applications filed by Abdul Ghani Majeed, principal accused in thefake accounts and money laundering case.
