China, Russia and Iran began third joint naval drills in the north ofIndian Ocean today [Friday] aimed at boosting marine security.
Iran’s state TV said, eleven of its vessels have joined with three Russianships including a destroyer and two Chinese vessels.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard also participated with smaller ships andhelicopters. The purpose of the drill is to strengthen security and itsfoundations in the region and to expand multilateral cooperation betweenthe three countries.
