ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Post was endeavoring to computerize all the postoffices in the country to provide viable customer service.
An official of Pakistan Post told APP that the department was facing twostriving to increase competition and introduce advancement in communicationtechnology.
“Pakistan Post has recently introduced several new products and servicesincluding mobile application, remittance initiative, Electronic Money OrderDoorstep, Same day delivery service, which cater need of every citizen,” hesaid.
He said the modernization plan intends to achieve wider reach to thecustomers, better service and growth through new lines of business.
Pakistan Post is providing postal services in every nook and corner of thecountry through a network of around 13,000 post offices.
In addition to its traditional role, the Pakistan Post also performs agencyfunctions on behalf of Federal and Provincial governments, which inter-aliainclude Savings Bank, Postal Life Insurance, Collection of Taxes,Collection of Electricity, Water, Sui Gas and Telephone bills.
Pakistan Post is also providing a universal postal service network inharmony with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) strategy to ensure secure andtimely delivery of mail, money and material at affordable cost throughutilization of people, process and technology and innovative productofferings.
