Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has hailed Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB)’s decision for not adding him in the centrally contracted playersalong with senior all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez.
“It was the best step taken by the PCB not to reward me and Hafeez thecentral contract because other players are more deserving than us. I fullyback their decision that youngsters were given the priority,” Malik said ina presser at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
All-rounder said that not just him, every player gets angry over criticismand is also fully aware of his bad performances in the ICC World Cup 2019.
“I know my performances in the World Cup were not good and I was criticizedheavily but I have left those things behind. In T20Is my exhibitions weregood whenever the team was at number one spot,”
Right-handed batsman appreciated new management led by former captainMisbah-ul-Haq decision of picking up new players and he has no complaintson why he was excluded from the side after the World Cup.
“It is acceptable that new management came and decided to select newplayers. Their aim was to play a well-balanced side and as far as I amconcern, I am always positive and looking for a new opportunity to shinefor Pakistan,”
