Pakistan officially responds over deadly attack in Afghanistan that killed over 100 military personnel

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan foreign office has officially responded over thedeadly attack in Afghanistan that killed over 100 security officials.

Pakistan issued its condemnation of a “terrorist attack in Wardak that hasreportedly taken more than 100 lives”, a spokesperson for the ForeignOffice wrote on Twitter on Monday.

“We pray for the maghfirah [forgiveness] of the deceased. Our hearts go outfor the bereaved families. We share their grief,” Foreign Officespokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal added.

“Such reprehensible acts vitiate the environment of ongoing efforts forpeace,” he wrote further, referring to the ongoing peace talks with leadersfrom Pakistan, the United States, and Afghanistan reportedly.link link

The Taliban’s attack in central Afghanistan on Monday had killed scores ofsecurity personnel, officials said, with some estimates putting the deathtoll at more than 100.

Attackers rammed a captured military Humvee packed with explosives into atraining centre of the National Directorate for Security (NDS) in MaidanWardak province, west of the capital Kabul. At least two gunmen followedup, spraying the compound with gunfire before they were shot down.
