Only one Pakistani player included in the ICC Test team of the year led by Kohli

ISLAMABAD – Only one Pakistani player has been included in the ICC TestTeam of the year led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli while none of thePakistani player has been placed in ICC ODI team of the year.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has been named in the InternationalCricket Council’s Test Team of the Year announced on Tuesday.

Abbas, who turned heads with his destructive bowling on the UAE pitches,finished the year 2018 with 38 wickets from seven Tests at 13.76, includingthree five-wicket hauls and a 10-wicket match haul.

He claimed 17 wickets in the two-Test series against Australia, afterhaving picked up 19 wickets in England and Ireland earlier in the year.

No other player from Pakistan could make it to the ICC Test and ODI men’steams of the year.

India skipper Virat Kohli was selected to captain the ICC´s Test and ODIsides for a second year running. He also became the first ever player toclinch all three top honours: Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’sCricketer of the Year, ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year and ICC Men’sODI Cricketer of the Year.
