KARACHI – Sacked Malir SSP Rao Anwar defended himself saying his intentionswere never wrong over the issue of the Naqeebullah Mehsud encounter.
He admitted that he might have made a mistake, complaining that he has notbeen given a fare opportunity to defend himself.
“I have not been trusted … I did not have bad intentions and might havebeen mistaken,” Rao Anwar said while talking to Kamran Khan on Dunya Newsprogramme.
“Four terrorists were killed but people raised voice for only one.”
Anwar defended himself saying errors occur during any war, giving theexample of how innocent people are killed bombing.
Regarding his failure to appear before IG AD Khawaja today, Anwar said hehas already recorded his statement before the investigation committee forNaqeeb murder case. He claimed that such an environment has been createdagainst him as if he himself caught and killed the victim.
Anwar claimed that the vicinity under his authority including Sohrab Goth,Malir district, Sherpao Colony, Janjal Goth and Vegetable Market havewitnessed a great decrease in crime rate. He declared to fight the waragainst crime in the country.
