The Pakistan Meteorological Department's Tropical Cyclone Warning Center has issued a second alert regarding Tropical Cyclone Tej. This alert has been prompted by the gradual intensification of a depression in the southwestern Arabian Sea, which is currently moving in a westward direction.

While this development is causing concern in the region, it's important to note that there is currently no immediate threat to the coastal areas of Pakistan.

Authorities have indicated that the depression, situated approximately 1830 kilometers from Karachi and 1760 kilometers from Gwadar, has the potential to transform into a deep depression. The situation is under close observation as it continues to unfold.

According to the alert, the depression is expected to strengthen and progress into a full-fledged typhoon by Sunday morning. It is projected that the typhoon's path will lead it towards Oman and Yemen, posing potential risks to those areas.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has appropriately noted that the name of this typhoon, "Tej," was suggested by India and signifies "speed."
