Nawaz Sharif stands at Rostrum for four hours, denies almost everything

ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif answered to 47 questions, out of total 128, and will respond to remaining questions on Tuesday.

He remained in the rostrum for four hours and answered to the questions.

Responding to the questions, he said that he had no connection with the Dubai Factory and Al-Azizia Mills. “I have never said that I have connection with Avenfield Property. I did not own the bearer shares of Nelson and Nescol company and they had never been with me,” he said.

Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar were also present in court.

In response to the first question, Nawaz Sharif read out the details of his public offices and said that the MLEs written by the JIT have not been presented in court. “Hence the verdict should not be pronounced on their basis,” he said.

The former prime minister said that the JIT was formed on the order of the Supreme Court, while the constitution gives him the right of fair trial under Article 10. “The SC verdict affected my right of the fair trial. I have objection to the JIT members and I recorded it earlier,” he said.
