Pakistan's High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit has hoped that bilateral talks between Islamabad and New Delhi will resume in the near future.
In an interview with Indian daily, The Hindu, he said talks and preconditions cannot go together. He said both countries must think of a formal structured dialogue for the resolution of issues.
Abdul Basit said no solution is acceptable unless it is acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that Kashmir issue should be resolved according to UN resolution and as per aspirations of Kashmiris.
To a question, he said that sports and politics should be kept separate, and Pakistan has been proposing and suggesting cricketing ties and others throughout.
