Work on K-IV project to provide water to Karachi has started.
Project Director of K-IV Saleem Siddiqui has informed the media men that the project starts from Keenjhar Lake and connects the city`s water supply network at Manghopir pumping station and it is expected that the project will be completed by June 2018 at a cost of 25.5 billion rupees.
He said that the work on K-IV is being carried out by Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and the project is being equally shared by the Federal and Sindh Governments.
K-IV project will ensure provision of over 650 million gallons a day (MGD) of water to the city in three phases. The capacity of the first phase is 260 MGD while capacity of second phase is 260 MGD. The capacity of phase III will be 130 MGD.
