BEIJING: China’s Defence Ministry confirmed successful test of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (IBM) in the area of South China Sea.
The ministry claimed that the experiment conducted was planned between the boundaries of China and not aimed to threaten any nation.
China’s defence ministry said “It is normal for us to carry out scientific research tests in our own territory, according to our plans, and they are not aimed at any specific nations or targets.”
US raised concerns on the latest test-fire missile of Beijing capable to strike US within half an hour.
Pentagon claimed that the missile identified as Dongfeng-41 capable to strike at a minimum range of 12,000 miles that has a capacity to hit entire US.
Pentagon officials claimed that missile weighs 80-ton with three stage solid fuel and capable of carrying 6 to 10 nuclear warheads at the same time.
Earlier this year in January, US Strategic Command said “China is re-engineering its long-range ballistic missiles to carry multiple nuclear warheads”.
