MOSCOW – China and Russia expressed readiness to further boost bilateralmilitary cooperation at the talks in Beijing on Thursday, Chinese DefenseMinister Wei Fenghe said.
“China is willing to work jointly with Russia, taking the opportunity ofthe 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries next yearto resolutely implement the consensus reached by the two heads of statesand promote the two sides’ military cooperation to continuously score newachievements,” Wei said at the meeting with Russian Deputy Defense MinisterAndrey Kartapolov, as quoted by the Xinhua news agency.
The Russian deputy defense minister has also vowed at the meeting that thebilateral cooperation will grow, according to the agency.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin at his annual newsconference lauded the Russian-Chinese security partnership for its positivecontribution to the global stability. – Sputnik
