Dubai Airshow Administration Officially Responds To IAF Tejas Crash

ISLAMABAD: A Light Combat Aircraft Tejas of the Indian Air Force crashed onThursday during a flying display at the Dubai Airshow 2025, promptingimmediate suspension of all further aerial demonstrations.

The incident occurred shortly after takeoff when the single-engine fighterapparently suffered a technical malfunction, forcing the pilot to ejectsafely before the aircraft plunged into a restricted zone away fromspectator areas.

Dubai Airshow organisers confirmed that no casualties were reported on theground and the pilot was killed. Emergency services responded withinminutes.

In an official statement, the airshow management announced the temporarysuspension of all flying displays until a thorough investigation iscompleted. The crash site has been sealed and evidence collection isunderway.

Authorities said a joint investigation involving Indian aerospaceofficials, the aircraft manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, and UAEaviation regulators will determine the exact cause of the accident.

The Tejas was performing as part of India’s promotional showcase event,which attracts major global defence manufacturers and air forces.

The crash marks a significant setback for the indigenous Indian fighterprogramme that has been aggressively marketed to Middle Eastern andSoutheast Asian countries in recent years.

Organisers stressed that static displays and conference sessions willcontinue as scheduled while safety protocols are reviewed.
