ISLAMABAD – A delegation from Malaysian Tower Company, edotco Group Sdn.Bhd, led by CEO edotco Group, Suresh Sidhu and Managing Director edotcoPakistan, Arif Hussain met the Foreign Minister to discuss opportunitiesfor future investment in the telecom sector and exchanged ideas on theexpansion of business in the country.
The delegation gave an in-depth briefing to the Foreign Minister about thecompany’s latest ventures in Pakistan and highlighted that edotco Pakistanhas long term agreements with all four telecom operators of the countryincluding Jazz, Ufone, Telenor and Zong. edotco Group plans to expandinvestment in Pakistan from $200 Million to over $350 million.
Being the only independent tower company in the country, edotco bringsregional operational strength of 29,900 towers across its footprintcombined with experience in rolling out next-generation’ shareableinfrastructure like lightweight carbon fiber towers, energy as a serviceand smart street furniture that support fast and cost-effective 4G rolloutfor mobile operators.
Speaking about their future plans, CEO Edotco group, Suresh Sidhu said,
Pakistan is an important market for us and we aim to introduce latestinnovations in the telecom sector to strengthen coverage across thecountry. Our company has already invested 200 Million Dollars in Pakistanand considering the growing number of digital users, we further plan toinvest 1 Billion Dollars in the future.
Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi lauded Edotco’s efforts towardsbuilding a strong telecommunication network in Pakistan. He said,
Pakistan is becoming an ideal country for foreign investment. Ourgovernment is committed to creating opportunities which would enhance easeof doing business here. In order to increase investment in Pakistan we havealready deployed economic ambassadors who shall present Pakistan’s case inthe international market.
Edotco’s delegation extended their gratitude to the Foreign Minister forhis cooperation and aimed to collaborate frequently in the future.
