Third Meeting of the Moscow Format was held in Moscow today (Wednesday).
The meeting, hosted by Russia, was attended by China, Pakistan, Iran,India, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan anda high-level Afghan delegation.
Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq,represented Pakistan at the meeting.
In his statement, the Special Representative conveyed that Pakistan’sconstructive role in the Afghan peace process was well-recognized andacknowledged by the international community.
He highlighted that peace in Afghanistan would benefit the entire region interms of stability, secure borders, enhanced connectivity, return ofrefugees and countering terrorism.
He emphasized that there was urgent need to extend humanitarian support toAfghanistan for which international community must step up its efforts.
