PIA plane damaged after being hit by a refuelling vehicle

TORONTO – A refuelling vehicle collided with a parked Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane at Canada’s Toronto Pearson International Airport on Friday, delaying the Lahore-bound flight by 16 hours.

Flight PK-798 was scheduled to take off at 7:40pm, however, the Boeing 777 aircraft was damaged when a refuelling vehicle operated by a local company collided with the plane’s engine during refuelling, PIA spokesman Mashood Tajwar said in a statement.

The plane was subsequently shifted to the hangar for necessary repairs.

According to the spokesman, a delay of 16 hours was expected in the flight due to the incident, therefore all passengers have been provided accommodation in hotels.
