Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan iscurrently entangled in a series of legal challenges. The NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) has recently initiated a new case against him,alleging the improper use of telethon funds. NAB has begun an investigationinto Khan’s alleged mishandling of funds collected through a telethon,stating that approximately Rs4.32 billion was raised, but discrepancies inpayments have been identified.
An application was submitted to NAB headquarters, originally seeking aninquiry into fund embezzlement. However, this request has been escalated toa full-fledged probe. Currently, Imran Khan is incarcerated in connectionwith a case involving the leakage of state secrets.
His judicial remand has been extended by a special court, and he isexpected to remain in jail until September 26th.
Despite the suspension of a three-year jail term in the Toshakhana case,Khan remains imprisoned, facing a multitude of legal challenges, includingcharges related to blasphemy and terrorism. Recently, his judicial remandin the cipher case was extended until late September
