In an intelligence-based operation (IBO) spanning Bannu and NorthWaziristan districts, significant strides were made in the fight againstterrorism, by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). A total of eightterrorists met their end, while five others, including their facilitators,were apprehended during this operation. The initial thrust occurred in JaniKhel, Bannu District, where our valiant troops engaged in a fiercefirefight with the terrorists. This intense clash resulted in the demise ofsix terrorists, while five were successfully taken into custody.
These terrorists had an ominous track record of orchestrating numerousattacks against security forces, including the facilitation of a MotorcycleBorne Suicide attack on a military convoy in Jani Khel just last month,which tragically claimed the lives of nine brave soldiers.
The ISPR further detailed that another operation was executed in DattaKhel, North Waziristan District, where two terrorists met their demise in afierce encounter with security forces. The aftermath of these operationsincluded the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the deceasedterrorists, followed by a thorough sanitization process in the surroundingareas to ensure the neutralization of any lingering threats.
