Two children were martyred and three others, including a Chinese national,were wounded in a suicide attack on a Chinese convoy on East Bay Expresswayin Gwadar on Friday evening.
According to a press release issued by the Interior Ministry after theincident, the attack was carried out on a Chinese convoy consisting ofthree vehicles “with integral security details of the Pakistan Army andpolice contingent” along the coastal road near Fishermen Colony.
The press release says, “A young boy ran out of the colony once the convoyreached there to target Chinese vehicles. Fortunately, soldiers of PakistanArmy in plainclothes employed as hang around security rushed to interceptthe boy; who immediately, exploded himself about 15-20 meters away from theconvoy.
“Resultantly, a Chinese national got injured. He is stable and has beenevacuated to nearest Gwadar Hospital. Unfortunately, two innocent childrenplaying nearby the incident site lost their precious lives while anothertwo children received critical injuries in the heinous act. They have beenevacuated to the hospital.
