Pakistan’s FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi reveals PM Khan s US visit agenda

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has visited Capital OneArena in Washington and reviewed arrangements for Prime Minister ImranKhan’s address to the Pakistani community there.

Senator Abdullah Riar briefed the Foreign Minister about the communityevent.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, the Minister said welfare ofexpatriate Pakistanis is a top priority of the PTI government; therefore,the Prime Minister included his meeting with the Pakistani community in hisprogramme of the US visit.

Later talking to media persons, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistanis livingin the United States are curious and enthusiastic to learn Prime MinisterImran Khan’s vision of Naya Pakistan.

He said the venue has capacity of twenty thousand people; and so far,nineteen thousand overseas Pakistanis have got their seats reserved. Heexpressed hope that the Pakistani community gathering will prove a historicevent.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is passing through a difficult economicsituation; therefore, the government is implementing an austerity drive. Hesaid the Pakistan delegation, including the Prime Minister, will stay atPakistan House instead of in costly hotels during the visit.

He said we have arrived in the United States with the message of anhonorable and dignified Pakistan and we want trade, not aid.

He said we are emphasizing on peace and stability and we are trying torestore our honorable relationship.

Pakistani community in the United States will give an outstanding receptionto Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Washington.

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting FaisalJaved has arrived in the US to review arrangements of a mammoth publicgathering for Prime Minister Imran Khan at the US capital.

The Senator who is to host the reception visited Capital One Arena andreviewed the preparations in detail.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the Pakistani expatriates at thevenue. A special documentary will also be aired on the occasion depictingthe historic political struggle of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Talking to media, Senator Faisal Javed said Pakistani community is veryenthusiastic and active on the US visit of Prime Minister. He said peopleof Pakistani origin are coming from all parts of the United States toWashington.

He said Pakistani diaspora living in Canada and other countries are also toattend the big event. He said a history will be written with the address ofPrime Minister Imran Khan to overseas Pakistanis at 4 pm tomorrow.
