ISLAMABAD – *The St Lucia Stars have announced that Mohammad Sami will bejoining their squad for the 2018 Caribbean Premier League which starts inAugust.*
Mohammad Sami will replace Rumman Raees.
Sami is one of the most experienced quick bowlers on the T20 circuit. Herepresented Jamaica Tallawahs in 2017.
Sami has played for Pakistan in 87 ODIs and 13 T20 Internationals and hasclaimed 169 wickets in his T20 career.
Hussain Talat, on the other hand, will be replaced by Mark Chapman as hebecame unavailable for this year’s edition.
Chapman made his international debut for his native Hong Kong in 2015 buthe has subsequently moved to New Zealand and has also represented them atinternational level against England this winter.
The general manager of the franchise, Mohammad Khan, said, “The Starswelcome the addition of both Mohammad Sami and Mark Chapman. Sami is one ofthe best fast bowlers in T20 Cricket. He remains fit, fast, and hungry. Wefeel his presence will make an already strong attack even stronger.”
He went on to say that Mark is a dynamic young batsman a player withconsiderable quality and a high cricket IQ.
“He will add more firepower to a middle order that includes Lendl Simmons,Kieron Pollard, and Daren Sammy,” said Khan.
The general manager expressed his disappointment over the absence of Talatand Raees from this season.
