Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur declared absconders

KARACHI – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and hissister Faryal Talpur have been declared absconders in money laundering caseby a session court in Karachi.

As per details garnered, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submittedchallan in session court in money laundering case against Summit Bank vicechairman Hussain Lawai and 20 others today.

The session court also declared Anwar Majid, his son and 18 otherabsconders in the same case.

Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and their associates are accused of sendingRs35 billion abroad through fake accounts after which, their names wereplaced on Exit Control List (ECL).

Lawai and his associates are accused of opening 29 fake accounts in theSummit Bank and United Bank of Pakistan Limited.

According to the FIA, 29 accounts were opened in the name of seven people,including a woman.
