The world’s best airlines ranking for the year 2017 has been announced and Qatar Airways has bee declared the winner, taking the number one spot from Emirates.
According to details, the 2017 World Airline Awards, organised by Skytrax, gave the top spot to Qatar Airways ahead of Singapore Airlines (which finished second) and ANA All Nippon Airways (which finished third).
This will be welcome news for the Doha-based airline which has been banned from traveling to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and Egypt after these countries announced an air, land and sea blockade of Qatar on allegations of supporting terrorism. Qatari authorities have categorically rejected the allegations.
This is not the first time but infact the fourth that Qatar Airways has won the title of the best airline in the world. It won the title back in 2011, 2012 and 2015.
Meanwhile, as far as other flight awards were concerned, Emirates won the awards for World’s Best Airline Inflight Entertainment and Best First Class Comfort Amenities.
Meanwhile Etihad Airways notched three awards for World’s Best First Class, Best First Class Seat and Best First Class Onboard Catering.
