NAB to investigate Nawaz Sharif in yet another corruption case

ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court (AC) Tuesday permitted NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) to meet convicted Nawaz Sharif in jail forinvestigation related to personal use of bullet proof vehicles imported forSouth Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference 2016.

AC-II Judge Arshad Malik heard the case.

NAB pleaded that 34 bullet proof vehicles were purchased from Germany andimported without paying duty for the guests of SAARC conference.

However, 20 vehicles were used in the motorcade which had been kept in hisand his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s personal use.

It further said the anti graft body had recorded the statement of ShahidKhaqan Abbasi, ex-principal secretary to prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawadand other officials.

NAB said the foreign office officials had misused their powers in matter ofbullet proof vehicles.‑APP
