ISLAMABAD – The most renowned trend “Made in Pakistan” is gettingpopularity on social media nowadays and becomes one of the top trend ontwitter with the slogans like” Be Pakistani, Buy Pakistani”, “Be a proudPakistani”, “No more imported products”, “Buy only made in Pakistan”,“Pakistan Bachao Doller Girao” and “Say No to DOLLAR”.
Many noted personalities including politicians, religious scholars, socialactivities and showbiz stars also joined the move to rebound thedepreciating value of Pakistani rupee against dollar.
Through this move Pakistanis were encouraging to buy only local products toreduce the import bill and recoil the value of Pakistani rupee.
Ezal Khan on his twitter account wrote that “It’s always seems impossibleuntil it’s done. From decades we have been hearing that we are economicallyweak. Let’s be united and make our economy strong by taking small steps.Start from yourself and i start from myself”.
Asmat Ali Abassi shared his views that “it’s time to forget about who youare. Whether you support PTI, PMLN, PPP or any other political party, It’stime to be united for our nation and economy and let’s show to world thatour first priority is our national interest Syed Shoaib Gillani has said onhis account that “Be a proud Pakistani, save your country Economy andboycott all imported items which we have to pay buy dollars”.
Zain Khan Khalil was of the view that our country was passing through worsteconomic crisis but unfortunately most of people are exploiting thissituation by converting their money in PKR to USD. It clearly defines ournation’s character. I wish we had a collective conscience towardspatriotism like Turkey.
Beside social media people are showing their concerns over the increasingvalue of dollar and urging Pakistanis to promote local products in largerinterest of the country.
While talking to APP an owner of currency exchange company Muhammad Ajmalsaid that the depreciation in the value of rupee is not in favor of oureconomy. We as nation should be united and encourage Pakistani products toreduce the import bill of the country.
He added that no matter whether this move will help to improve thesituation or not but the most important thing is that it shows thatPakistani as nation are concerned for their country and economy and wantsto play their role for the sake of the our homeland.
Saliha shabir a lecturer of economics in a local collage appreciated thetrend and said that now a day’s social media is an important form forcreating awareness among masses about the issues of national interest.
She added that our economy is facing hard time but through committed andunited efforts we can overcome our issues and take our country towards thegoal of micro-economic stability and prosperity.
