Shahid Afridi unveils his future plans

*KARACHI:* Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi has unveiled his future plans about theT20 cricket.

He has no intention of giving up playing competitive cricket. Afriditweeted after consulting his doctor in Dubai, and he has been advisedanother two-three weeks rest to make a complete recovery.

He sustained the injury during a training session while playing for KarachiKings franchise in the third Pakistan Super League in Dubai, forcing him tomiss the play-off eliminators. “Went to see my doctor in Dubai, the kneehasn’t recovered fully yet. I’ll need another 3-4 weeks. Hoping to regainfull fitness after that, keep praying for me,” he wrote on his twitterhandle.

The 38-year-old Afridi, one of the most popular cricketers in Pakistan, hasannounced his retirement from international cricket last year, butcontinues to play in T20 leagues around the world.

The all-rounder has faced injury problems in the last two years and evenmissed the final of the second PSL in Lahore, which his team won, due to afinger injury. Since his international retirement, Afridi has spent a lotof time working for his charity foundation and travelling to differentparts of the world.

Meanwhile, Afridi has confirmed playing a T20 international for ICC WorldXI against the West Indies. Afridi confirmed it via Twitter saying, “I feelstrongly to support this as a cricketer & Muslim.”

The Pakistani cricketing star said that he is following cent per cent therehabilitation plan given to him by his doctor. “My Allah recommends tohelp people in need with all the power I have,” Afridi said further in histweet. Previously, a few media reports raised suspicions over Afridi’sparticipation in the match due to his injury. Apart from Afridi, ShoaibMalik is also a part of the ICC World XI.

The T20I to help affectees of hurricanes Irma and Maria will be playedbetween the ICC World XI and the West Indies at the Lord’s on May 31.English captain Eoin Morgan will lead the World XI. Sri Lanka’s ThisaraPerera has also confirmed his participation in the match.
