Jahangir Tareen responds over PTI members campaign against Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir KhanTareen on Sunday expressed his support for former finance minister AsadUmar by condemning a social media campaign against him.

Tareen took to Twitter, and stated that he holds Umar in the highest regardsince they have struggled together against the status-quo for more thaneight years.

“I vehemently condemn Farhan Virk’s campaign against Asad Umar,” he saidwhile referring to a self-proclaimed PTI’s social media representative.

“Asad continues to be part and parcel of PTI senior leadership and we allvalue his role,” he wrote.

Asad Umar on Thursday stepped down as finance minister after refusing toassume charge of another ministry he was being offered by the PM.

He, however, assured the government of his support saying only Imran Khancan build a Naya (new) Pakistan.
