LAHORE – The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturdayremoved the vice chancellor of Punjab University Dr Zakria Zakar from hispost.

The CJP issued the order while taking suo motu notice of the constructionof grid station on university land.

The court while expressing stern resentment over the matter questioned,“Who are you to sell the university’s land to the government? You peopleare only appointed to bow your heads before the government.”

Senior advocate Khalid Ranjhs requested the court to review the decision tosuspend the VC.

The CJP remarked, “I think I should tender my resignation and submit it inthe court now.”
