ISLAMABAD – The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will constructa temple for the Hindu community of Peshawar, a minority lawmaker of thePakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party announced on Thursday, Press Trust ofIndia has reported.
Ravi Kumar, a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, made theannouncement while addressing a Holi celebration event organised by thelocal Hindu community in the city.
The provincial government has asked the members of the Hindu Rajputcommunity in Peshawar to decide whether they want a temple or a communityhall.
Congratulating the Hindu community on Holi, he said that the formal Holicelebration at the government level would be organised on March 30.
