NEW DELHI- Petrol bomb was thrown on the car of a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader early Wednesday morning in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The bombwas thrown on one Mahindra XUV500 owned by BJP district secretary ofCoimbatore.
The incident was caught on CCTV camera. The CCTV footage shows the petrolbomb hitting the parked SUV, following which flames could be seen on theroof of the vehicle.
Earlier in March, some unidentified miscreants had petrol bombs at BJPoffice in Coimbatore. According to police, two petrol bombs were thrown atthe BJP office on VKK Menon road.
The BJP office in Coimbatore is on the first floor of a two-storeyedbuilding. The cops had scanned the CCTV footage incident to get leads inthe incident. It came shortly after a statue of Dravidian ideologue Periyarwas vandalised in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupattur.
