NEW DELHI – Pakistani Agencies were using social media to radicalise Sikhyoungsters in India, the ministry of home affairs (MHA) informed aparliamentary panel.
The ministry told the Parliamentary Committee on Estimates that members ofthe Sikh community, settled in Canada and European countries, were being‘instigated against India with false propaganda’.
A report, ‘Central Armed Police Forces and Internal Security Challenges —Evaluation and Response Mechanism’, which was tabled by the ministry inParliament on Monday said: “Sikh youth are instigating by Pakistan.
The committee was also informed that radicalisation of Indian youngstersthrough the misuse of internet and social media had emerged as a bigchallenge for security agencies.
“The problem is further accentuated by the fact that the groups havestarted using secure social media platforms and proxy servers to avoiddetection by intelligence and law enforcement agencies,” an MHA note to thecommittee read.
