Beijing: TikTok, the short video sharing app, has introduced new features,giving some control to parents over their children’s account.
The new feature called ‘Family Safety Mode’ is currently available in someEuropean country. The firm has said that it will be extend to other regionsbut time frame has been given.
“We are announcing Family Safety Mode, a new feature to help parents andguardians keep their teens safe on TikTok,” it said in an officialstatement.
Parents with the new feature will be able to keep any on their children’sactivity as well manage their time table for it.
How it works
Family Safety Mode links a parent’s TikTok account to their teen’s and onceenabled, they will be able to control Digital Wellbeing features, including:
Screen Time Management: Control how long their teen can spend on TikTokeach day.
Direct Messages: Limit who can send messages to the connected account orturn off direct messaging completely.
Restricted Mode: Restrict the appearance of content that may not beappropriate for all audiences.
