Yet another diplomatic blow to India from Saudi Arabia

*NEW DELHI: Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir has said thatKashmir issue should be resolved in the light of United Nations’resolutions.*

In an interview to an Indian television, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said thatthe conflict must be resolved as per aspiration of Kashmiri people. He saidthat the Kashmir conflict should be settled by dialogues between Pakistanand India.

On the other hand, Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thanked Saudi crownprince and the foreign minister for supporting their just struggle for selfdetermination.

It was another blow for India on diplomatic front, as earlier, staying trueto his friendship with Pakistan, Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman hadrefrained from passing any comment against Pakistan much to the dismay ofIndian media.

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman neither spoke on Pulwama attack norcited a single word in the joint declaration released on the conclusion ofhis trip to India.

In another interview, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir whilecommenting on the aftermath of Pulwama attack had said, ‘India and SaudiArabia have shared concerns on terrorism, we will work together todeescalate tension but how can we condemn Pakistan when we do not have theevidence before us yet.” The foreign minister had said that he was not surethat who was behind the attack.

On Wednesday, the Indian congress had questioned Prime Minister NarendraModi’s move to personally receive Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed binSalman who praised Pakistan’s anti-terror efforts.
