LAHORE – The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Lahore has opened yetanother inquiry against the Punjab government adding troubles for CMShahbaz Sharif government who always boosts of transparency as hallmark ofhis governance.
NAB on Wednesday summoned record of “Khushal Pakistan Program” from thePunjab government.
Further increasing the difficulties of the Punjab government, theanti-graft watchdog’s Lahore chapter asked the authorities of theprovincial government to provide record of “Khushal Pakistan Program”.
Punjab Planning and Development Department Secretary received a letter fromthe NAB Lahore Additional Director Khawar Illyas in this regard.
The letter stated that following the complaints, the anti-graft agency hadinitiated investigation into the “Khushal Pakistan Program” and asked theprovincial government to provide record.
Earlier, the NAB chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal was unhappy with thePunjab government’s “non-cooperation” with the bureau on variousinvestigations it had initiated against the provincial government.
